WBro Robert Arthur Denton PGSD RAMGR receives New Year Honour
WBro Robert Denton, a long serving member of Powys Lodge MMM No.685 and Perseverance Lodge RAM No 685 has been recognised for his services to the community by being awarded the BEM in the recently announced New Year’s Honours.
Robert, was Powys Lodge WM in 1988 and Perseverance Lodge WC in 1987 and served the Mark Province as Provincial Grand Charity Steward between 1999 and 2003. Awarded Grand rank of PAGDC in 1995 and later promoted to PGSD in 2004, he also received RAMGR in 1994.

A British Empire Medal (BEM) has been awarded to Robert Denton, 76, for services to the community in Rothwell. He spent 22 years as bailiff of the Rowell Fair Society after 12 years as deputy.
Mr Denton was also a district councillor for 16 years, as well as a special constable between 1960 and 1994. He spent 42 years teaching, including 23 years as headmaster of Walgrave Primary School.
He said: “When the letter passed through the letterbox you think ‘Oh my goodness’.
“I’m thrilled to bits to get the honour but you do feel very humbled by it – there are other people in the area who put as much into the community as I do.
“But I feel proud to be appreciated. It’s a lovely feeling.”
