Mark Provincial Grand Lodge - 2015
On Saturday 27th June, the Mark brethren of the Province, along with distinguished guests, including RWBro Michael Herbert PDGM, and visitors from many other Provinces, assembled at Freemasons’ Hall in Sheaf Close Northampton, for the annual meeting of Mark Provincial Grand Lodge.
Once the PGM, RWBro George Bonham had opened PGL, a delegation from the Royal Ark Mariner Lodges of the Province, arrayed in colourful RAM regalia, was received, parading their Banner which the PGM had dedicated at the Provincial RAM Assembly in December last year.
The Principal Guest, the Deputy Grand Master, RWBro Keith Emmerson, was then received, accompanied by the Grand Director of Ceremonies, RWBro Kessick Jones P.G.J.W. RWBro Emmerson was making one of his final visits before stepping down as DGM early next year.
He immediately set to work, investing WBro Trevor Boswell with the Chain of Office of Grand Steward, as he had been unable to attend to be invested at the June Investiture meeting of Grand Lodge because of other Masonic Business.
Before investing the brethren which he had been pleased to appoint and promote to Acting and Past Provincial Office, the PGM was pleased to reappoint as his Deputy Provincial Grand Master, VWBro Brian Ennever PGJO.
Whilst addressing the Brethren, the PGM said that although numbers of Royal Ark Mariners in the Province remained at 312, the same as last year, those of Mark Masonry had shown a small increase to 601.
He then presented cheques to the PrGMs of London and Bedfordshire before calling upon the DGM to invest WBro John Clark with his MBF Grand Patrons Gold Award, WBro Brian Elliott with his MBF Grand Patrons Award and WBro Mike Nixon with his MBF Patrons Award.
The Deputy Grand Master then addressed the 203 brethren present in the Temple.
After PGL had been closed, 175 brethren retired to enjoy a lively Festive Board.
Date for your diaries - Next year’s meeting of Mark PGL will be on Saturday 25th June 2016 at Sheaf Close Northampton, with the Provincial Assembly of Royal Ark Mariners due to be held on Saturday 5th December 2015 at Corby Masonic Centre.
