Brian expressed his grateful thanks to everyone for their support to him over those years, indicating that business and personal circumstances had reluctantly required him to ask the Provincial Gand Master to "retire" him. W.Bro. Bob Stokes was subsequently replaced as Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies by W.Bro. Richard Bedells.

During his address to the brethren, R.W.Bro George advised the meeting that it was his intention to stand down as Provincial Grand Master on the eve of the 2017 annual meeting (Friday 23rd June 2017) after 10 years as our Provincial Grand Master and that after discussion with Grand Lodge he hoped to be able to let the Province know the name of his successor by the time of the annual RAM Assembly in December this year.
Following his Address, the Provincial Grand Master received a standing ovation for a number of minutes, indicating to all, the love and affection to which he is held by brethren of the Province and indeed by visitors from other Provinces. This was later endorsed when the Assistant Grand Master proposed his toast at lunch and spoke glowingly of his service to the Province and particularly to Mark masonry in general.
