The Three Counties Lodge No. 9278 in the Craft Province of Northamptonshire and Huntingdonshire held its Installation Meeting at Sheaf Close on the evening of 28th October 2019 during which the Worshipful Master for the year 2019-2020 was Installed into the Chair of King Solomon.
W.Bro. Bob Stokes, PPrGSW, ProvGM for the Mark Province of Northamptonshire & Huntingdonshire, was memorably installed by W.Bro. Tom Quinn, PPrGJW of West Kent Craft Province, Provincial Grand Master for The Royal Order of Scotland Bedfordshire & Northamptonshire Province and who was invested earlier in the year as Provincial Grand Master for the Mark Province of London.
The evening took on a very distinct influence of Mark masonry during the investiture of Officers of the Lodge with the WM investing W.Bro. Brian Elliott, Deputy ProvGM of Northants & Hunts Mark Province as Senior Warden and W.Bro. George Bonham, Past ProvGM for the Mark Province as Junior Warden.
Other enthusiastic members of the Mark order were also invested as Lodge Officers including V.W.Bro. Rev. Tony Avery, PGJO, Provincial Chaplain as Lodge Chaplain, W.Bro. Jim Boughton, PGJD, as Lodge Almoner, W.Bro. Trevor Boswell, PGJD, as Senior Deacon, W.Bro. Norman Pope, PGStwd, as Junior Deacon, W.Bro. Stephen Eales, PGJD as Organist and W.Bro. Phil Collins, PGSD as Inner Guard.
A number of other Officers of the Mark Province were also in supporting attendance including the Provincial Grand Secretary, W.Bro. David Sowerby, the Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies, W.Bro. David Balmer and the Deputy Secretary, W.Bro. Des Hinshelwood.
Following the Installation ceremony, the Provincial Grand Master, R.W.Bro. Max Bayes presented his traditional half yearly address to the assembled brethren during which he announced that W.Bro. Jim Boughton, Grand Superintendent in and over the Holy Royal Arch Province of Northamptonshire and Huntingdonshire would be the next Master of the Lodge from the October 2020 meeting.
During the Festive Board following the meeting the Worshipful Master spoke of the very close bonds that exist and continue to be developed between the Craft and Mark Provinces in Northamptonshire & Huntingdonshire and thanked R.W.Bro. Max Bayes for his unstinting support to him and Mark Masonry in general.
